older projects

dirt 5

For Dirt 5's testing cycle I had to develop a deep understanding of the Dirt 5 racing systems, as they were dramatically different from previous projects I've worked on. I initially began on the Playstation 4 team, testing before moving onto the PC platform, testing different stores for launch, including Steam and the Windows store. A large component was the creation of custom maps in the Playgrounds mode.
Using this mode helped improve my skills as a level designer by having to adapt a design of a track to strict measurements.

f1 2020

F1 2020 definitely added a lot more features from the previous iteration of the Franchise games, namely the introduction of the ambitious and popular mode - My Team. Having the player create and manage their own team, including designing their own car livery, hiring a 2nd Driver and choosing an engine supplier.

This mode required extensive testing to get the game feel right, especially with the introduction of new teams, tracks and drivers and how they'd all interconnect with one another from a systems perspective. By tuning the difficulty levels, we allowed players to find their balance between an instant success of a team, or to go through the gauntlet of a more realistic simulated F1 team management.

grid

After a long stint the GRID franchise returned in 2019. I started with the Playstation Team very early into the development cycle of this project.

Duties:

Familiarisation with GRID's systems which were aiming for more of an arcade racer than the F1 series.

Adhoc Testing

Completion of testplans

General game feedback.

f1 2019

My first credited title - I was taught the basics on how to investigate, define and report bugs whilst learning how to use new software in the form of Jira and testrail.
